LG Tone Free FN7 Review | The only earbuds that can kill Bacteria!

So listen hear real quick. These are the new LG FN7 Tone Free ANC earbuds. When it comes to earbuds the competition is fierce & it's becoming increasingly hard for manufacturers to differentiate their earbuds from the competition....with that said LG has delivered something unique here with the FN7's

So let's get some of the fundamental design stuff out of the way 1st. The FN7's case is tiny and lightweight at just 56grams... and it has a superpower in the form of bacteria-killing nano UV lights. More on that later. The finish is nice. It's got an incredibly premium-feeling soft-touch coating with a little bit of branding on the top.

The case is very minimal with just a USB C port and a tiny LED charging light on the side. I must say it's built well and it doesn't feel like you could break it by accident. When it comes to the earbuds themselves. They've got this nice two-toned look with this dark grey stripe. They've got capacitive controls, 3 mics & wear detect sensors built-in...LG is ticking all the boxes here.

So I already mentioned the ANC and from my experience of testing headphones. One simple thing that helps noise canceling is the ear tips. LG has not cut any corners here. They've bundled in medical-grade ear tips, which have this spiral design which LG says will help with the passive noise isolation.

The last very important design feature here on the actual earbud is the drivers... LG partnered up with a high-end British audio company Meridian to design these. The drivers have a silicon infused edge...and a metal layer...that edge design should allow for more movement of the driver....and deliver more bass.

Alright, that's the design out of the way...if you like what you see so far. Hit me up some fire 🔥 in the comments.

So the most obvious thing about all electronics is they don't run on water...yet. LG got you covered here with a 390mah battery in the case... 7 hrs playback per earbuds and a further 14hr of playback power in the case....and it supports wireless charging. How about that? It takes around two hours to fully charge the case...but get this. 5mins charge in the case will deliver an entire hour of playback.

Now let's talk onboard controls. The capacitive buttons are very sensitive & have a nice haptic sound on touch which is fantastic...single tap, double-tap, and long tap gestures are all available here & can be customized on the Tone Free app.

That takes me nicely onto the Tone Free app that quite literally might be one of the best earbud apps I've ever tested. If you are an audio control freak you will love this...you can use the preset EQs to create custom ones...it is so well laid out. LG's app game is strong here.

Ok now let's talk sound quality. Watch the video for my opinion

Bob Marley said 'One good thing about music when it hits you feel no pain' unless you get an ear infection in which case you probably will... That's me saying that second part, not Bob in case you were wondering.

With the world in crisis due to the pandemic...we all got to be more careful. The LG FN7 Nano UV case has got your back here. As it kills 99% of bacteria on the speaker mesh...when you put them back in the case.

The Pocket-ability of the FN7's is amazing. It's so small and compact... but that does not detract from their power.

I saved the ANC for now because...it is awesome... because these aren't quite as bulky as some other noise cancellers I've tested...I was expecting them to be so good. Road noise even higher frequency sounds in the form of voices are considerably quieter...the spiral design silicon's assisted here. I'm impressed. I have to mention that app again it is brilliant. It's one of the best I've ever used.

Last but not least is the sound quality. It's the strongest point is the audio clarity. I just have this cleanness to it...this might be thanks to the Meridian audio tuning...or LG's. Either way, I can tell you they sound good.
