iQoo 13 Vs IPhone 16 Pro Max Vs Galaxy S24 Ultra - CAMERA COMPARISON ( Amsterdam to London )

Ok, so before I share with you my thoughts on the camera performance. It's important to note that the iQoo at the time of this video is just a couple of weeks from it's release. So there's likely to be lots of updates that optimise the camera over the coming months. So this does make your feedback on the camera incredibly useful…because if the iQoo team sees this video. They may just implement some of your suggestions. So what I'm getting at here is definitely chime in in the comments.

So this is the 10X zoom photo. At first glance quite surprisingly to me the iPhone seems to have performed the best followed by the Galaxy and then the iQoo…but you know what time it is.

To really see if that's true let's zoom in 220x and see which one tells the time the best. I'll let you be the judge here.

 Point and Shoot

Ok so this was what I call a point-and-shoot photo. Zero effort involved…take the phone out, open the camera and hit the camera button. And this may seem unfair as the iQoo and Samsung both focused on the background, but the iPhone focused on the foreground. Well while it wouldn't be fair to compare details here. There is a takeaway in regards to camera Ai scene recognition.

The Android phones knew I was interested in the reflections automatically. But the iPhone prioritized the railing on this bridge…anyway. Let's not focus too much on the foreground here. Moving on

 Ultra Wide

So as I was dragging my suitcase down the street I spotted this stoned Super Mario. So snapped this ultra-wide.

There's quite a noticeable difference in brightness between the three phones. The iQoo in my opinion has actually done a good job in this area because the scene is bright and if we zoom into the distance and the brightest point of the photo it's not overexposed.

 Ultra-wide 2

Here's another ultra-wide. Now, this is a great example of the different brands' approach to colour. Honestly the most true to life is probably the Samsung. What's quite surprised me is the iPhone is leaning into cool tones normally the iPhone is the past by default really made its photos warm

Anyway, the iQoo 13. I think the Camera Ai has gone a little wild here. And it almost looks like it's applied to an Instagram filter. The water is kind of aqua green and the sky has some added magenta…it's not quite true to life but it does look pretty awesome. What do you think?

 Extreme HDR

Now the high dynamic range test. And this kind of test doesn't get more extreme than shooting directly at the Sun.

It's important you know this. This isn't just a test of the camera sensors, the results heavily depend on the quality of the lenses and lens coatings as well as the post-image processing handled by the phone's chip.

At first glance, I think most people would choose the iPhone 16 here as the winner. But look at how much it crushed the details. On the bridge and on the post in the foreground. The other two phones seem to have put more effort into balancing the entire scene as much as possible. However, the Androids are showing some lens flares possibly due to this.

 Selfie

The photo I've been dreading. This is the face of a man who’s literally been working up to 10hrs a day, 7 days for around the last 3 months…lol

So forgive me for my battle-worn appearance.

The iPhone in true iPhone fashion has turned me into a tomato. Far too much red but the details look good.

The iQoo 13 has done a good job at smoothing out my battle scars and wrinkles around my eyes. And see that like on my forehead…I got that whilst trying to figure out why in Amsterdam they have bottle openers mounted on the wall next to the shower.

Anyway, the Galaxy takes the win here in my opinion best colours and handling of the highlights and skin tones but the 32MP sensor on the iQoo is impressive. Check out the eye detail here.

 Vanishing Point

So I'm calling this the vanishing point test. Somewhere way back there in these photos is the point we're the details stop…but which one holds the most detail at a distance? Let's see. I'm gonna let you call this one.

 Portrait Selfie

This is a portrait selfie and this is clearly an area that iQoo needs to update the software…because it's not really adding any blur at all…so iQoo if you see this please fix this mode.

Anyway, this is really between the iPhone and the Samsung. They're really quite close. Edge detection on both are quite precise and background blur is nice, but the iPhones did a better job with the textures on my jacket.

 Portrait Rear

Ok, we will get a closer look a plane shot but first

Here's a rear portrait photo of my chosen noise-cancelling earbuds for this trip. The Bowers and Wilkins Pi6. I'm sorry I messed up the angle on the Galaxy pic. But anyway, the notable difference here in my eyes is the iQoo and the iPhone really nail edge detection.

The iQoo is slightly more aggressive with the amount of blue and it seems to be adding a lot of warmth. Which is nice but makes my skin tones look unnatural.

The Samsung has cooler tones but has lost some edge detail on the lid but…that's probably my fault for holding the buds at the wrong angle. And I feel the galaxy is adding too much blur.

I think this is a win for the iPhone. That gradual increase of blur into the distance and the slight softening of the edges around my hands and the lid make it look less artificial to me. What do you think?

Anyway, I was running late for my flight. So I had to hastily make my way to the gate which was much further away than I thought…. But there's always time for a cheeky half-pint on the way.

 The Pilot Shot

Alright, so here's the cockpit of the Airbus A320. And this picture was very kindly taken by the pilot of the plane. Lots of lights, lots of colour and a Top Gun level pilot at the controls. Yeah, this is a good picture.

Notable differences in my opinion. The most accurate colours are between the iPhone or the Galaxy here. The iQoo is clearly too warm, this may be due to the phone over-saturating the colours.

In terms of details let's zoom in 200% on the radar on the dashboard to see. Ok you call it…

This was an awesome experience so many thanks to the pilot for this one…and it's worth mentioning he really like the iQoos colourful ambient light feature on the camera module…that's something the other two phones can't compete with.

 Portrait Mode

This is a portrait shot on the rear cameras. Apologies for the framing, it was out of my control. This is my face when I realise I'm going to have to pay for a new passport soon as I'm nearly out of passport pages…

Anyway, this is interesting because both the Galaxy and iPhone have done well…but check out this unusual distortion on the blinds.

The iQoo has made my skin silky smooth but maybe a little too much. And the blur effect is best described as minimal.

Yes, you can adjust the levels manually but I'm a fan of minimum effort, and maximum results. So these are all just point and shoot portrait mode photos. Which is your winner?

 The Phantom Menace

As soon as I got home. The Dog took a seat at the dinner table and was looking at me like “ So it's you, your back…what we having “ lol. So these pictures are interesting because this dog is particularly difficult to photograph. Quite often phones will crush the details on her fur.

Let's zoom into the eye area and see what we can see. Honestly, the iQoo takes the win here in regard to detail and sharpness. But when we zoom back out. The colour of the chair is a good reference point for me personally and I can tell you the most accurate grey tone is on the Galaxy.

 Starbucks Hot Chocolate

Ok let's get into some lower light settings. Here's a Starbucks Hot chocolate. And which are you drawn to instantly…I do believe most people will say the iQoo.

As by default its Ai scene detection has enhanced all the colours and made it super colourful and vibrant. When in reality maybe the most accurate here is the iPhone or Galaxy…however maybe the Galaxy is slightly cooler in colour tone.

 Night Lights

This one is interesting as the iQoo is clearly the brightest and most colourful and again stands out the most.

Which one looks the best in your opinion? Based on how it looked to my eyes at the time, I'd say the Galaxy is the most realistic but does that make it the best, that is the question.

 Night Selfie

Now a night Selfie and I must say…there's a huge difference here. And that 32MP sensor has done a great job gathering more light than the other too.

The iPhone has given a shade of orange that even Donald Trump would be jealous of. The Galaxy is good but quite soft in regards to details…and before you say, Yes I did clean the lens before taking the pic. So there is something else significant I noticed about these photos…man my face is getting fat…and I have no idea why. Anyway, let's move on to the last picture.

 Burger Pic

Mmm, this was a tasty burger. I actually shot this at midnight in the hotel room in Amsterdam when I had just arrived. I got it from Uber Eats…And I've got a funny story about Uber Eats in Amsterdam but ain't nobody has time for that right now… so the pictures.

The lighting was bad…but the burger was good. And the worst burger shot is the iPhone. It just refused to focus at the same distance as the Androids. It kept switching to the macro lens …so this was the closest I could get without losing focus. So it's between the Galaxy and iQoo. Again the most realistic is the S24 ultra and the enhanced but eye-catching is the iQoo…which one looks the tastiest to you…? Alright on that note I appreciate you coming on this camera comparison journey with me.
