Leaked - Press Images Leak of Sony's Xperia Z5 W/23 MP Camera

Sony is a company who has a history of having a slightly odd release schedule for their devices. As only a couple of months ago they only just released the Xperia X3+ (aka the Z4 in Japan) in the US, and now we're getting ready for another release in the shape of the Z5 and possibly one other device.

The word on the street at the moment is that Sony would be showing off the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 compact at their fast approaching press conference. Now a few images have surfaced online which appear to be genuine. These new leaks show off a few different press renders of Sony's new the device, they show specific the parts of the phone's camera lens arrangement and a couple of other angles to boot.

One of the images shows droplets of water on the screen so we can certainly expect this device to come with Sony’s signature waterproof feature and as far as I can tell it looks like Sony has stuck with the same design of the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z4. I'm going to assume that the leaked images are all of the same device so the Xperia Z5 should be winging it's way to us in white and gold; I would be very surprised if there is not a standard black version and possibly a jade green/turquoise colour - but I suspect this to be the black phone witth a filter slapped over the top.

Historically Sony have labelled the Xperia phones with the rear camera sensor megapixel count on the phone's derrière and it seems this time round is no different. According to this press image the phone will be coming with a 1/2.3 23MP Exmor RS rear-facing camera, which gives a nod to previous rumours of the an upgrade from Sony's usual 21.3 megapixel camera they have used on some devices in the past.

Sony’s press conference is due next week so we can expect more details to be released then.
